Khao Yai National Park is under the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, itself affiliated to the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment. Officials stationed in the Park comprise both temporary and permanent positions, under the ultimate management of a National Park Chief, who is tasked with furthering the interests of resource conservation. To achieve this, the internal management structure is divided into different departments such as management, conservation, recreation and accommodation, technical and academic, international cooperation and public works. Khao Yai is divided into 8 zones, protected by 24 National Park Protection Units staffed by Forest Rangers.
